Capitol Hill Seattle Whole Foods Market
This was an exciting opportunity to design a store in the heart of Seattle. With 14 floors of apartments above and a multilevel site, it was a unique two story space that had a lot of challenges. I came into the project at a late stage and the architecture had been designed. This store had a very tight budget, but luckily the architecture provided a good backdrop for simple decor. The vibrant neighborhood made it easy to design inspired decor with the help of Thread Collaborative (https://www.threadcollaborative.com/)
We worked with a local group in Seattle called Urban Artworks (https://urbanartworks.org/) to create a huge mural in the center of the store. It was a great way to get local talent into the store and create a fun icon in the store. With this mural and other local elements, this store quickly became an eclectic representation of the colorful neighborhood it is surrounded by.
