Kansas City Whole Foods Market

This store was a part of a multi-use development in Kansas City, MO. I worked with Studio Gee out of Austin, TX on the soffits, materials, lighting, and overall space planning (http://www.studiogee.net/). Similar to other stores, we tried to incorporate the history and spirit of Kansas City, while remaining modern and innovative. We were inspired by the jazz history as well as some of the art deco buildings in the area.

The sign package was designed and installed with Southeastern Products out of Greenville, SC.  We carried out the modern/art deco feel with the signage as well. Peppered throughout there was original art that gave the space a custom and eclectic feel.

One of my favorite elements was the mural done by a Kansas City native, JT Daniels. It sits prominently on the elevator at the front of the store. We also had a lot of different seating areas at this store and it was a fun challenge to create different environments without disrupting the cohesive design aesthetic.
