F R E S H

This was a branding and product design project that was done for my Masters non-thesis. I began with researching food deserts and the lack of connection between farmers and these areas with no access to grocery stores. To find a solution, research was conducted with surveys, case studies, and other branded campaigns.

 

From this research and design came the FRESH campaign. FRESH started with a brand and then grew to become something bigger.  The solution was to add intangible value to fruits and vegetables, and change the system around them. In doing so our culture could begin to reverse the damage of an unhealthy diet and planet. This was the main goal of the branded portion of the project.  

 

The second phase of the solution was the designed product, or vehicle, for this farm to desert connection. Transportation as a key to the connection between farmers and the city can be translated in numerous ways. From buses to bikes to trains, possibilities were explored. In the end it became a bus stop that was convertable to a farm stand. Another layer was the transportation solutions to connect these bus stations to the farms.
